Hochstein at Canandaigua presents Break on the Lake
Sunday, August 7, 2011, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Hochstein School’s extension program, Hochstein at Canandaigua, will present Break on the Lake, a benefit concert featuring “Break of Reality,” a cello rock ensemble, on Sunday, August 7 from 1:30-4:00 pm at a beautiful, private residence on Canandaigua Lake. The event is a fundraiser for the programs and students of Hochstein at Canandaigua and will open with a performance by student cello rock band, C4. Celebrity bartenders* will serve complimentary light refreshments and beverages. Single tickets to the event are $50 each; tables of 8 are available for $350. Presale-only 50/50 raffle tickets are available for $10 each or $20 for three. For more information and tickets, call (585) 396-3778 or (585) 454-4596. All ages are welcome, the venue is handicapped-accessible, and there is boat docking upon request.
Members of Break of Reality are no strangers to Rochester—all are graduates of the Eastman School of Music and their return to the Rochester-area after a sold-out concert last January is highly anticipated. An instrumental crossover group, BoR consists of three cellists and a percussionist who expanded on their classical training to play rock. The band has released two independent albums of original music, The Sound Between (2006) and Spectrum of the Sky (2009), which have sold over 30,000 copies worldwide. The band is currently working on a cover song project that will include tracks by Metallica, System of a Down, Coheed and Cambria, and more.
Break on the Lake will take place at 5735 Seneca Point Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Bristol Harbour Resort, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust, Constellation Brands, Fiddlehead Concepts, and Wegmans have provided generous support.
