There are tuition scholarships available for eligible families for children to attend Arts in Action: Summer Camps for Kids in both Rochester and the Canandaigua locations. Arts in Action Camps start Monday, July 11 and run weekly through July 29. There are half-day sessions (9:00am – 12noon) and full-day sessions (9:00am – 3:30pm) for ages 4-10, where each day the children attend arts-related classes. This year’s themes in Rochester are Once Upon A Time, where children will use songs, instruments, movement, and art to bring a tale to life; Jazz-A-Matazz, where children get to explore jazz and collaborate with older teens at Jazz Ensemble Camp to listen and experience jazz first-hand; and Circle the Earth With Peace, cultures and the ways they celebrate peace will be explored in song and movement. This year’s themes in Canandaigua are The Summer Down Under, exploring Australia through art, music and dance, and What’s the Big Idea, creating, inventing, designing, and discovering the arts. Each Friday there is an informal performance where the campers perform and display their artwork.
Call Hochstein today to register your child for one of these fun-filled weeks. There is an $10 registration fee. The normal cost for half-day camps is $120 and for the full-day session it’s $195.
