Live from Hochstein Spring Series Starts in March

LIVE FROM HOCHSTEIN CONCERT SERIES FOR SPRING

RETURNS WITH INTIMATE MUSICAL PORTRAITS

The best way to capture the variety of classical music Rochester offers in an intimate setting is to take a lunch break with Hochstein for their Live from Hochstein spring series of live broadcasts. Starting at 12:10pm every Wednesday from March 21 (except for Easter Break of April 11) listeners can enjoy 50 minutes of scaled down ensembles and soloists performing accessible music for no charge.

There are two percussion-oriented programs, starting off with the RPO Marimba Band on March 21. The second program of May 2 with Hochstein faculty member Ivan Trevino’s original compositions is a kick-off to Percussion Rochester, Eastman School’s new biennial festival. Another Eastman collaboration is on March 28, celebrating the Women in Music Festival featuring Hochstein resident ensembles TWENTY21 and Fem Vindar [a woodwind quintet]. April and May is comprised of soloists in piano, viola, cello, and voice, along with Hochstein’s student Merit Scholars completing the series.

All performances are held in the Hochstein Performance Hall located at 50 N. Plymouth Avenue in downtown Rochester. Street parking is available as well as nearby lots and the Sister Cities Garage. For more information, check the online calendar at www.hochstein.org or call 585-454-4596.
