HYSO Concerto Competition Winners

On Sunday, November 6, the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition was held at the Hochstein School of Music & Dance. Seventeen talented students competed for featured spots on a future HYSO concert.

The winners are:
Cheryl Fries, junior bassoonist (Red Creek High School)
Harrison Hartsough, senior cellist (Victor High School)
Madeline Laitz, senior violinist (Harley School)

The judges were Lauren Becker, Jonathan Girard, and David Leung, who remarked on the musicianship and artistry that they heard from all of the participants. The winners will perform with the HYSO on upcoming concerts throughout the season.
