Gather With Us This Fall

Dear Hochstein Families and Friends,

It's hard to believe the summer is almost over-and what a summer it has been!

First-time offerings (Composer's Club, Hochstein School of Rock, and Break of Reality Cello Workshop) were terrifically successful. We enjoyed three lively weeks of Arts in Action, and the Music Therapy Department was busy as well, hosting a number of on-site day programs and a concluding performance. (See photo below)

Our staff and volunteers in both Rochester and Canandaigua were also busy

Cello Quartet C4

planning and executing events that included Break on the Lake in Canandaigua and our 14th Annual Swing Time Golf Tournament at Penfield Country Club. Both were enormously successful as friend and fund raisers!

And now we're eagerly preparing to see you all again beginning September 12! If you haven't already registered, there's still time-either by appointment or during our Walk-In Registration Days, September 6, 7, and 8 from 3:00-8:00 pm.

On a staffing note, it is with both joy and sadness that we announce a change in the

Laura Schweibacher
Laura Schweibacher

Hochstein at Canandaigua Program Coordinator position. Joanna Bassett will be passing the baton to Laura Mayes Schweibacher early this fall. There aren't words enough to thank Joanna for her four-plus years of hard work and dedication which truly brought this program to life. Happily, we are confident that Laura's administrative background and experience as a voice faculty member at Hochstein at Canandaigua will serve us all well!

We are also saying goodbye to our wonderful Kate Wheeler who is relocating to Boston at the end of this month. A Hochstein alum, Kate is our Assistant Dean and a member of our Dance Faculty in both Rochester and Canandaigua. Be sure to drop in and greet Laura as you say farewell to Joanna and Kate!

On a final note, we have made some exciting changes in our Spotlight on Faculty concert series, the first of which takes place on September 22. These hour long concerts are now scheduled at 7:00 pm on seven Thursday evenings throughout the year. We will also be charging a nominal fee of $5 per person, $10 maximum per family. Complete information will soon be available on our website.

Enjoy the last days of summer and we'll see you in just a few weeks!

Sincerely,
Peggy Quackenbush signature

Hochstein's On-Line Payment/Donation Site is Active!
Hochstein is going paperless! In an effort to reduce costs and also reduce Hochstein's carbon footprint, we will no longer be sending out quarterly or semi-quarterly invoices en masse. Instead, we are excited to announce the opening of our on-line site for tuition payment and donations through ActiveNet. Instead of a paper invoice, you will get an e-mail payment reminder 2 weeks before your payment due date, along with information about accessing your amounts due and payment on-line. Our new payment and donation site is the following:
